Dr. Muath Abdelrahman Alzarooni

Consultant Psychiatrist – Child & Adolescent Mental Health, ADHD Specialist

Dr. Muath Abdelrahman Alzarooni is a UAE-licensed Consultant Psychiatrist with subspecialty training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and ADHD. He completed clinical fellowships in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa, Canada, and in ADHD at McGill University, gaining advanced expertise in neurodevelopmental and mental health care.

Dr. Alzarooni previously worked at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), where he served as Clinical Lead of the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Department, overseeing clinical services and resident training. He is currently a Consultant Psychiatrist and Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist at the American Center for Psychiatry and Neurology (ACPN) in Abu Dhabi.

With over a decade of experience, he has also trained and practiced in internationally recognized centers including the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), and the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.

Alongside his clinical training, Dr. Alzarooni holds a Certificate in Clinical Research from Harvard Medical School and a Diploma in Leadership for Health Professionals from RCSI–Dubai, reflecting his commitment to advancing healthcare leadership, education, and evidence-based practice.

An active researcher and presenter, Dr. Alzarooni has published in leading journals such as the Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (JAACAP) and was awarded Best Poster at the 9th World Congress on ADHD in Amsterdam.

He also serves as President of the UAE ADHD Chapter under the Emirates Medical Association, leading efforts to raise awareness, advance early intervention, and promote high-quality ADHD care across the region.
